Each of our products are handcrafted in our Philadelphia shop with care and love. The following instructions will help you to care for and protect your Edgewood products.
Caring for your Edgewood Home Goods
Our wood products are finished with all-natural, food-safe oil. This finish provides a durable protective coating to the surface and penetrates deep into the wood.
For boards, trays and utensils, after each use, wash with hot water, soap and a sponge. Do not submerge these products in water for long periods of time. Do not clean these items in the dishwasher. To dry, place cutting boardson edge or hand dry with a dish towel. You can refresh and maintain the finish by wiping your pieces with food-safe mineral oil. Remove excess oil and let air dry.
Glazed Porcelain and Ceramic
We suggest washing our ceramic and porcelain products by hand with hot water, soap and a sponge. If noted, some products are dishwasher and microwave safe. Use caution when eating or drinking hot foods and beverages.
Caring for your Edgewood Furniture
For wood furniture, use a dry or lightly dampened cotton cloth to clean. You can refresh and maintain the finish by wiping on walnut oil. Remove excess oil and rub dry.
Brushed or Polished Metal Care
Use a dry cotton cloth to clean. Wet cleaning may leave streaks. Do not use solvent-based cleaners.
Metal cleaners and conditioners can be used. However, check to be sure that the formula is meant for the specific type of metal. Cleaners not meant for the specific type of metal might tarnish or alter the appearance and color of the metal. Polish with a dry cloth after application.
